Unsigned Weekly: It's a King Thing

I find out about bands in the weirdest of ways. Lets just leave it at that. Though I won't mention how I came across It's a King Thing I will more importantly give you a couple MP3's of theirs to download. I will also tell you that if you like what you hear, there is more where that came from. What do I mean? Well, the South Jersey indie/pop group has decided to give away their latest album Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo for free. You can download that here

The group features a throw back 90's sound without making their music seem dated. They seem to mix all types of different influences. Some tracks I hear Superdrag, some Built to Spill, Dr. Dog, Weezer, Elliot Smith and the list goes on and on. It's not that they sound really different or original though, it's that they write solid songs all the way through this album. Ironically, out of all the albums out there that you still have to pay for, I would have happily bought this one.

The Front Bottoms post video of sorts

"Their music is so good and they chill so hard"

The Front Bottoms have posted a video update? Well, it's not really an update or preview of something or a performance, but it's definitely worth checking out. The North Jersey group, which made our 20 NJ Bands to Conquer 2010 list have quite a few local shows coming up, including a FREE! one this Friday @ Meat Locker with Washington Square Park. You can check out all of their upcoming dates here. The group also is looking to head out on an East Coast run this June and needs some help booking. If you think you could be of assistance check out the end of the video for what dates the guys need help with. Also, expect to be seeing a new EP from TFB's in the near future, we'll let you know when there is a confirmed release date.
