Ride the Fury Fest took place this past Saturday, July 24th @ Warren American Legion. The Fest was a celebration of Ride the Fury creator Pat Gerity, who also curated the show. The all day fest was Seasick's last show before a long hiatus, Zhenia Golov's last show ever and Black Kites LP release show. Though originally billed as a 12 band line-up, Suburban Scum played a surprise set right before The Banner performed. Towards the middle/end of Seasick's set cops tried to shut the show down. The cops ended up being moshed (photos below). Read some quick to the point reviews of every band's performance here. Full line-up below. Also, be sure to check out videos of GDP and Black Kites performing below.
I saw the cop walk up through the crowd and I knew exactly what could happen if everyone knew what to do. And I don't think Gore or the others even hesitated, he clicked off, they launched into the song, and Nick walked right around the cop and started to sing. And it wouldn't have worked if no one else was on board, but there was no hesitation from the audience either and so Seasick played a final song and everyone went off as hard as they could with a smile on their face because, for two minutes, we could all really believe that this music is too powerful and means too much to us to be ended at the whim of some old guy with a gun.
