Passion Pit @ Wellmont Theatre New Year's Eve

Passion Pit brought in the New Year with two Wellmont Theatre shows this past week. NJ's Titus Andronicus opened the sold out Thursday night date, while Philadelphia's Man Man filled in for Slick Rick on Friday, due to the veteran rapper's last minute cancellation. We were able to stop by Passion Pit's New Year's Eve performance and grab some photos. The Cambridge, MA group's setlist consisted mostly of material off their debut LP, Manners, but also included some songs of 2008's Chunk of Change EP and a cover of The Cranberries song "Dream". A video of singer, Michael Angelakos counting down to 2011 can be found below. Passion Pit did also mention that they will be taking some time off, which I'd assume would be to work on a new record. Let's hope so.

Passion Pit release new song for free download. Tickets to their 12/31 Wellmont date still available.

Passion Pit have teamed up with American Express's ZYNC to make their new song titled "All These Trees" available for free download. You can grab the song, along with tracks from Andrew Bird and The Antlers, over at ZYNC's Facebook page. The new song will not be appearing on the group's new album and is an exclusive track for AE. The Cambridge, MA group are set to kick off their two night run at Montclair's Wellmont Theatre tomorrow night. Tickets for that show (12/30) have already sold out. Don't fret though! Tickets for their New Year's Eve show the very next night are still available and can be picked up here. Look out for our coverage of their NYE date the next day!

Passion Pit launch poster contest for Wellmont Theatre New Year's Eve show

Passion Pit have teamed up with Creative Allies to give fans/artists a chance to design the show poster for their New Year's Eve show at Montclair's Wellmont Theatre. The lucky winner will receive not only 2 tickets to the show, but $300! All designs are due by December 17th! Passion Pit announce tour dates. Playing Wellmont Theatre & Temple University.

Passion Pit have announced that they will be playing two end of the year dates at Montclair's Wellmont Theatre 12/30 and 12/31. Tickets for both their December 30th and special New Year's Eve show will go on-sale this Friday at noon. In the much more near future, the Cambridge, MA group are set to play Temple University's (Philadelphia) Liacouras Center as part of their Campus Consciousness Tour next Saturday, October 16th.
