Vampire Weekend cover Springsteen's "I'm Goin' Down"

Erza Koenig of Vampire Weekend recently discussed with Pitchfork music he loved growing up which included Bruce Springsteen's album Born in the U.S.A. On Saturday night, Koenig showed his love even more when Vampire Weekend covered "I'm Goin' Down" at a show in Vancouver, British Columbia.

"I've gone through a lot of favorite songs from the album. For a while, "I'm Goin' Down" was my favorite, and I listened to that constantly. Partially, it may have been the headspace that I was in at the time. It had this happy feel, but somewhat depressing lyrics about going down. There's this weird mix of bummed out and cheerful about going down. That one really stood out for me." [Erza Koenig]
