The Jesus and Mary Chain announce 2012 festival appearance

The Jesus and Mary Chain reunited back in 2007 for Coachella and some other dates. They also released a track "All Things Must Pass" in 2008 for the soundtrack of NBC's now defunct show Heroes. Besides that, Jim Reid & Co. haven't been up to much.

Luckily, that is changing (at least just a little bit) as the Glasgow group have been confirmed as part of the 2012 35 Denton festival lineup, which as you may have guessed takes place in Denton, TX. Video proof, below. Lets hope (see below) more dates are announced in the near future.

Rabid fandom for the band still shines just as bright as it did 30 years ago, leading a new generation of restless youth to discover their music. The brothers have teased the existence of a new album. Could their appearance at 35D bring that holy grail a little closer to reality? Here's to negative thinking!

Update: more dates announced.

3/12 - New Orleans, LA - House of Blues
3/13 - Houston, TX - House of Blues
3/14-18 - Austin, TX - SXSW
