According to Rolling Stone, American Idol singer Adam Lambert will tour with the remaining members of Queen as their lead singer, replacing the irreplaceable Freddie Mercury. Lambert stated: "The intention is to pay tribute to Freddie and the band by singing some fucking great songs. It's to keep the music alive for the fans and give it an energy that Freddie would've been proud of."
Since Mercury's death in 1991, Queen have toured with Bad Company frontman, Paul Rodgers, but according to rumors they have been looking for a new singer for the past couple years. Lambert admitted that it would be "impossible" to replace Mercury, he said: "There’s no intention in my mind of replacing Freddie. The way I’m choosing to view it is that it’s a great honour and one I’m in no way going to shirk."
This won't be the first time Lambert has perform with Queen. He did so at the finale of American Idol in 2009, and also at last year's EMA Awards. You can check out the EMA footage below.
