Operatic singer/songwriter Rufus Wainwright has released two tracks from his forthcoming Out of the Game. Earlier this week came track six, “Montauk”, an epic ballad fueled by a piano track and one of Wainright’s most powerful vocal performances.
Now, today, Rufus has put out Out of the Game’s title track, which could not sound more different. Without Wainwright’s distinct voice, “Out of the Game” would sound like Chicago, for better or for worse.
The album, Out of the Game, is due out April 23 via Decca Records with production by Mark Ronson. Rufus’ sister Martha, Wilco’s Nels Cline, Nick Zinner of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Andrew Wyatt of Miike Snow, and Sean Lennon all apparently appear on the album.
