Black Sabbath cancel reunion shows

Heavy metal’s founding fathers have officially given all but one of their their upcoming reunion shows the axe. Black Sabbath were set to tour Europe from May to July, but Tony Iommi’s deteriorating health has put a halt to those plans. Guitarist Iommi announced last month that he had been diagnosed with lymphoma, although until now the boys were still planning on going through with the tour. Now the full band will play just one show together on June 10 at Leicestershire, UK, where they will be headlining the Download Festival. The boys apparently intend to schedule new tour dates sometime in the near future.
Luckily the newly announced “Ozzy and Friends” tour will play almost all of Black Sabbath’s previously scheduled shows. The “Ozzy and Friends” shows will feature two Black Sabbath members, Ozzy Osbourne and Geezer Butler as well as collaborator Zakk Wylde. Some of the shows will also include Slash and other special guests.
Despite all the cancelations, Black Sabbath (minus Bill Ward due to contract disputes) are still working on a new album together. The upcoming album will be the first to include Ozzy Osbourne in 33 years. Take a look at the new tour schedule below.
