Post-punkers Public Image Ltd are back in the studio, apparently, despite being a bunch of old men. The post-Sex Pistols project of John Lydon (aka Johnny Rotten) the band called it quits in 1992 after their eighth full-length, That What Is Not. PiL reunited back in 2009 for string of mostly UK shows and various festival dates. Now Johnny Rotten and friends are officially recording again, with a new EP and full-length on the way.
BBC 6 Music debuted “One Drop”, the band’s first released studio recording since 1992, earlier this week. “One Drop” comes from the forthcoming EP, which will be available on vinyl exclusively and will be out on April 21 for Record Store Day.
The boys are also working on a new full-length, which will be titled This Is PiL according to the BBC broadcast. This Is PiL will include 12 songs and is due out sometime this May or June. Listen to “One Drop” below.
