Jay Reatard Documentary 'Better Than Something' getting limited release

Better Than Something, the Jay Reatard documentary, will officially have a limited theatrical release. Alex Hammond and Ian Markiewicz directed the film, which follows the Memphis punk in the months before his death in 2009. Better Than Something is part concert film part true documentary and it examines the music, life, and death of Reatard.
The film (an expansion of the short Waiting For Something) made the rounds at various festivals over the last year. Now Better Than Something is getting a slightly wider release with showings in Brooklyn, Memphis, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, L.A., Bellingham, Columbus, Austin, and San Francisco in March and April.
