80s Brit-pop legends Dexys Midnight Runners have announced their work on a fourth full-length. The band broke up 27 years ago after their third album, Don’t Stand Me Down, then reunited in 2003 and played shows together from time to time ever since.
Now Kevin Rowland and his large crew are officially working on a new record entitled One Day I’m Going to Soar out June 4. Earlier this week Dexys released the first two minutes of the album through a mysterious YouTube post without any song title or other context. It’s certainly no “Come On Eileen” or “Geno” but the new track is still intriguing, if only to see what the band has been up to for the last couple of decades. Listen to the preview and watch the video for “Come On Eileen” below.
