Björk announces NYC residency. Playing NY Hall of Science & Roseland Ballroom. Tickets on sale 1/13.

Björk has announced that she will head over to NYC this February/March to perform a whopping ten dates of her Biophilia live show. The residency, the Icelandic songstress's only scheduled U.S. dates thus far, will be in partnership with The Creators Project. The shows will be split between Queen's New York Hall of Science and Manhattan's Roseland Ballroom. A bit about the shows themselves and the full list of dates can be found below. Tickets go on sale next Friday, January 13th via Ticketmaster. Even more info over at The Creators Project.

The performance of Biophilia is particularly awe-inspiring as it finds Björk accompanied by a set of unique musical instruments that includes four 10-foot pendulum-harps, a midi-controlled pipe organ celeste re-fitted with bronze gamelan bars, and twin musical tesla coils. (We previously spoke with Andy Cavatorta, the MIT Media Lab graduate who was responsible for designing them). The performance also features a 24-piece Icelandic female choir and live remixed visuals from the Biophilia Apps.
