Disney dropping the Joy Division shirt

This week’s Mickey Mouse/Joy Division controversy seems to have reached its end. In case you missed it, Disneyland and World were selling a graphic tee (above) that combined the cover of Joy Division’s Unknown Pleasures with the shape of Mickey Mouse’s head. On Monday the Internet found out about it and by Tuesday they had all sold out and Joy Division’s living members confirmed that they had nothing to do with it.
Now Disney has decided to pull the shirts altogether saying, according to Pitchfork, “As soon as we became aware there could be an issue, we pulled it from our shelves and our online store to review the situation further”. The shirts are now going for anywhere between $25 and $255 on eBay.
