Van Halen to perform at NYC's Cafe Wha? this week

Van Halen are reportedly set to play a very intimate 45 minute set at NYC's 250-capacity Cafe Wha? this Thursday night. Incase you are wondering, no, the public is NOT invited. The press only show, which isn't 100% confirmed, will be the group's first live appearance since their 2007/08 reunion tour.
The classic venue that helped launch the careers of Jimi Hendrix, Bill Cosby, Bob Dylan, Richard Pryor and more now almost solely hosts cover bands. David Lee Roth apparently has a strong tie to the club, due to his uncle Manny Roth having at one point owned it.
The veteran rock group are set to release a new album February 12th. Tickets for their upcoming 2012 world tour go on sale next Tuesday, January 10th. Expect the record's first single to hit later this month. Via RS.
