MP3: Lee Ranaldo - "Off The Wall"

As previously reported, Sonic Youth co-founder Lee Ranaldo is working on a new solo album, Between the Times & the Tides. Now Matador Records has released the first preview of the album, a track entitled “Off The Wall”. This track is a catchy and compelling indie-pop song with hints of that distorted Sonic Youth sound. Matador will apparently include “Off The Wall” on their and True Panther’s January 17 2012 Intended Play Sampler.

Between the Times & the Tides is Ranaldo’s first solo album with Matador and it comes out March 20. The album will also include guest spots from Jim O’Rourke, Bob Bert, Nels Cline, Steve Shelley, Irwin Menkin, Alan Licht, and John Medesk. Stream or download “Off The Wall” here.
