Interview: Hoodie Allen

1) What was it like filming the music video for "The Chase Is On"?

It was an amazing experience. It was my first video that really had a full on cast and crew and just watching all those pieces come together and be so dedicated to making a great video was a really fulfilling experience.

2) How did you get Sofia Black-D'elia in the video?

A lot of pleading! haha In my head for the video I just knew she would be the perfect fit and we were able to get in touch with her people and get on her board--I'm really thankful for it because not only is she an amazing actress, she's a sweetheart and really fun to work with.

3) What was the recording/writing process for Leap Year like?

Grueling and really rewarding. It's been about 6 serious months in the making and I feel like I got everything I needed to say to make a complete and personal project.

4) What are you most looking forward to about the summer tour?

The chance to get in front of fans in new cities and play new music that I'm really excited about. I want everybody to experience what I felt in making the songs, live.

5) What music are you currently listening to?

Two Door Cinema Club, Landlord and Leap Year

6) What are some of your favorite NJ venues to perform at?

I've only ever played at the School of Rock and it was like my worst show ever.....let's hope Mexicali is a little bit more fun.

7) What artists would you'd like to tour with in the future?

I'd love to do something different and tour with an alternative or indie rock act. I'd love to do shows with Childish Gambino and friends like Brenton Duvall who bring something different to the table.

8) What's next after the tour?

More tour haha Gearing up for a very busy fall and couldn't be happier.
