New Jersey native Nicole Atkins graced the stage of Maxwell's in Hoboken on Friday night, in support of her latest album, Mondo Amore. The show was sold out well in advance, and her powerful performance kept the packed room tight in her grasp from start to finish. During the set, Nicole was joined onstage by Michael and Whitney, members of Maryland's Cotton Jones Basket Ride who have been her supporting act on this tour. Vividly colored by bluesy slide guitar, dancing keys, and locked in rhythm, Nicole serenaded the crowd like a passionate songbird with vocals that are like silk on fire.
