It'd been three years since Forever The Sickest Kids graced the stage of Irving Plaza, but to no surprise the band rocked out like it was their hometown. Having just released a new record, the band's hype was at an all time high and the crowd was going nuts for the boys from Texas. Playing a collection of both new, old, and really old songs, the band won over the crowd with their hilarious onstage banter and insane energy. On a side note, the band has been collecting donations at their merch table for the past year and a half to provide clean water for children in Africa. Together, the band and their fans have built/repaired ten wells in African villages.
Making their comeback into the music scene, Good Charlotte took the stage and played for over and hour and a half to their loyal fans. Though they too released a new album recently, the setlist contained songs from all their albums, including their debut self-titled from 2000. I have to say, the Madden brothers are troopers. As reported onstage, the brothers, Benji and Joel, recently found out their voices are shot and are in need of surgery. Both refuse to get the surgery and are continuing the tour. About halfway through the set, Benji performed the tear-jerker "Emotionless" solo, and when Joel returned to the stage it became more evident how much pain he was in. Despite health issues, the band performed a solid set and are definitely on their way back to the top.
