The National and Mates of State to appear on Trey Anastasio's next album

What happens when indie meets jam? That’s what Trey Anastasio is trying find out. The Phish frontman has enlisted members of the National and Mates of State for his next album.

The eclectic crew is currently working on the project at Tarquin Studios in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Peter Katis has signed on as the album’s producer after previously working with Mates of State and the National on Rearrange Us and Boxer respectively. No specifics yet as to the upcoming album’s title, release date, or tracklist. Via Spin.
