Listen to R.E.M.'s last release - "Perfect Circle" & "Life & How to Live It" live

For the last 23 years, R.E.M. sent its fan club a special holiday single every year, including covers, splits with other bands, Christmas songs, new tracks, and live performances. With the band’s breakup earlier this year, it seemed like the recent Part Lies, Part Heart, Part Truth, Part Garbage collection would be the last R.E.M. release ever. But then Michael Stipe and friends decided not to cancel Christmas after all.
The band is sending out their 24th holiday package to its fan club on Saturday, and it’s already available to stream. This year’s present is a pair of performances from the band’s last tour in 2008. The tracks are “Perfect Circle” from Murmur and Life and How to Live It” from Fables of the Reconstruction; check them both out below.
