Cause Of Death For Ex-Weezer Bassist Mikey Welsh Was Likely Drugs

Very sad news for not just Weezer fans, but music fans in general. It appears that the cause of death for former Weezer bassist, Mikey Welsh was drugs. Welsh, 40, passed away a few days ago in a Chicago hotel room, and details are just now leaking regarding the circumstances around his tragic passing.

The Chicago Tribune is reporting that police found prescription drugs along with a ziplock-type bag containing white powder, believed to be heroin.

To honor Mikey, fans at Weezerpedia have set up a digital eulogy page, where fans can post photos, videos and memories having to do with the late Weezer member.
