Ace Enders and Thursday's lead singer Geoff Rickly are featured in an Alternative Press article about how successful bands still struggle when it comes to money. The article discusses issues including merch, CD and ticket sales and how they can affect touring bands. Other musicians featured in the piece include Eisley's vocalist/guitarist Sherri DuPree Bemis, Haste The Day's bassist Mike Murphy and This Is Hell's guitarist Rick Jiminez. Rickly made this statement in regards to misconceptions about the band's monetary status.
“I saw something online once that said, ‘Oh those Thursday guys don’t care, they’re driving their fancy cars and living in their big houses,’” Rickly says. “I thought that was so funny. In our biggest year, when we were all over the radio and on TV, I made less than anyone with a desk job makes. It’s a weird misconception."

I have no doubt that's what Geoff's tax return says, but the dude definitely makes considerably more. if they were that hard up for cash while collecting $3-8,000 guarantees (plus merch) every night they could just go without a tour bus, which costs a shit ton of money. Also, they are at the point in their career where they should negotiate a lower manager and booking agent percentage.
Neither band is on a major label dumbass.
Let me correct myself. Mid-major labels fuck over bands. Omg. News at 10.
