the best national songs that night, for me anyway, were Anyone's Ghost, Conversation 16, The Apartment Story, England, Fake Empire and Vanderlyle Crybaby Geeks (simply perfect performance not that it was like the cd, but because of what it added to it. just incredibley jubilent)
probably like more but they played their faces off its hard to remember all the stand out songs. I would defintely see them again. 1st time seeing either group. highly recommended.
ps I also saw LCD the night before which was an out of this world performance so i may have colored my listening experience a wee bit. LCD is a dance band whereas National is alot more introspective although they get rocking and loud. the band played their faces off.
but in either case I would see all the above mentioned groups again. great all around musical experiences.
