Fucked Up & Cloud Nothings stopped by Hoboken's Maxwell's this past Wednesday, September 8th. Fucked Up were fresh off a performance at this years All Tomorrow's Parties, which took place this past weekend. The group are currently in the middle of a short East Coast stint that ends this Tuesday in Miami. The Toronto group are then set to perform at Matador at 21 in Las Vegas along with Pavement, Guided By Voices, Sonic Youth, Spoon and more October 1-3. Later that month the experimental hardcore band head overseas for a two week UK tour.

Cloud Nothings is the moniker of 19 year old Dylan Baldi. The Cleveland based group have an upbeat lo-fi pop-rock sound that has been catching a lot of peoples attention over the past year. Though the genre is beginning to become rather flooded, Dylan's unique songwriting ability seems to shine through on his debut, Turning On, which will see a proper release October 12th. The group was rather reserved during their Maxwell's performance, but their chemistry was notably impressive for such a young band. Their live sound was considerably less distorted, letting the songs speak for themselves as opposed to harsh fuzzy. You can pre-order Turning On here. Preview a couple tracks off the release below.
