Underwater Peoples Summer Showcase took place last night at Brooklyn DIY spot, Shea Stadium. The bill featured mostly Ridgewood area groups that have been involved with the NJ label in some way, shape or form. One of the more prominent NJ groups, Real Estate played an unannounced set, which kicked off around 3:30 AM. The well attended showcase spanned over 8 hours and hosted 11 bands including: Julian Lynch, Ducktails, Air Waves, Alex Bleeker and the Freaks and Family Portrait to name a few. Underwater Peoples is currently sporting a catalog that is just about all sold out. You can check out what is left to pick-up and what the label has released thus far here. Underwater is currently readying for a new Family Portrait release, which is yet to have a release date. In other Family Portrait news, the group has quite a few shows coming up, including another NYC date with Julian Lynch this Wednesday and a few more dates with Tennis. For all the details go here. Those videos are pretty sweet. Hopefully Real Estate plays NJ again soon and Julian Lynch play a show where the venue is actually allowed to post the address :P
