The Aquabats were called out by TMZ. Playing Starland Ballroom tonight.

TMZ (yes, that gossip website, TV show, etc.) recently posted a video of The Aquabats launching a small child into a stage dive. The veteran Ska group were of course given permission prior to having their singer sling the minor into his first crowd surfing experience, but none the less TMZ and their commenters seem to be leaning towards of irresponsible the act was. You can check out the video along with the 100+ comments on it over at TMZ. Check out another video of a kid doing a (forward flip) stage dive at an Aquabats concert. The ska legends are set to play Starland Ballroom tonight with Reel Big Fish. Tickets are still on-sale. Thanks to Punknews for the tip! What are your thoughts?

The Aquabats do this at every concert: they bring the kids and parents onstage (there's ALWAYS kids at a Bats show), ask both parties permission to stage dive, do so and then are gently whisked back to the front of the stage. I've never heard of a child being hurt doing this and 100% of the time, those kids are having the time of their lives.
