The Gaslight Anthem @ Radio City Music Hall 9.30.10

The Gaslight Anthem played their largest headlining set to date this past Thursday at NYC's legendary Radio City Music Hall. Time Out New York was there to review it. Check out their write-up here. Excerpt below. Thursday nights full setlist can be found after the fold. Also, if you missed it check out our coverage of their last NJ show here.

The four-piece held its own on the historic stage, opening the set with “High Lonesome,” off of 2008’s The ‘59 Sound, the album that garnered comparisons to the Boss, which pressured the band to push themselves further on their latest release, American Slang. After playing “We Came to Dance” and “Diamond Street Church Choir,” singer Brian Fallon—tattooed down to his knuckles and dressed in a white crew-neck T-shirt, blue jeans and a vintage-inspired bowler hat—relinquished guitar duties to another musician. For the upbeat “Old White Lincoln” and the soulful “Even Cowgirls Get the Blues,” Fallon focused on singing and charming the crowd that consisted of every demographic, from punks in Replacements T-shirts to businessmen in slacks and button-downs, as well as the band’s family and friends. Awesome photos. Considering I've seen this band 3 times in the past two years I had to pass on Thursday show, but it's definitely great to see them come so far!
