Saturday, July 25, 2009 at 1:22PM The Hold Steady

Last night, The Hold Steady made their first appearence at Starland Ballroom since they opened for The Get Up Kids there two years ago. This time around they were headlining to a nearly sold out crowd. They played an extra long set (23 songs), that took songs from all of their releases, pleasing both new and old fans.
The Hold Steady are also headlining the XPNonential Music Festival today in Camden, NJ. They embark on a small Canada tour in September. Set list from the Starland Ballroom show below.

Titus Andronicus

A four-some from Glen Rock New Jersey, Titus Andronicus opened the show with an impressive set, which featured songs off their debut album, "The Airing of Grievances." Having seen thse guys play on floors a few times while creating utter chaos, they made a rather well transition to the big stage. If you haven't heard Titus Andronicus yet you should make it a priority to check out "Landscape of Icarus," here.

awesome set list. how was Titus?
gay as usual
Good show. The sound was great and the set list was perfect. Thankfully we only had to sit through one opening act.
badass titus pics
What is the deal with the lead singer? He is such an awkward spazz onstage that it really is distracting and uncomfortable. And maybe I am just not getting it, but I can't sit through 23 songs of this guy talking over the music. It gets old really quick.
yea, you're just not getting it.
