Mae @ School of Rock 11.7.09

It had been a rough week for Mae, but you weren't able to tell it from their good spirits this past Saturday at School of Rock. If you didn't hear, Mae recently had their van & trailer stolen in Philadelphia while on their current tour with Jenny Owen Youngs and Deas Vail.
The group took the stage around 10pm and opened with an ear catching, perfectly layered instrumental and then proceeded into the crowd favorite Suspension. It was impossible to tell the group was making due with borrowed equipment as the group plowed through their crowd pleasing set flawlessly. Singer Dave Elkins explained how much it meant for the group to make it to School of Rock after everything that happened. Really excited to see how they play when they actually have their own gear.
Mae just released (M)orning last month on their own Tooth and Nail imprint label, Cell Records. The group has partnered with DonorsChoose and Habitat For Humanity to raise money via selling their new album through their website WhatisMae.com. Mae has raised over $55,000 to date. Now its your turn to help Mae out, if you can spare anything, you can download their album for a donation here.

Great show! Definitely my favorite of all the times I've seen them live. Jenny Owens was good too!
