Absolutepunk.net recently posted an interview with North Caldwell's The Exotic Aquatic. The interview discusses super powers, furry animals, the bands influences among other things. The Exotic Aquatic are currently supporting their latest release Where I Used To Sleep, which is coming up on its one year anniversary. If you haven't yet, you can pick up the record here. I also had a chance to catch an acoustic performance of front man Jason Soroka last Friday, where he debut new material that definitely seemed to be his most promising work yet. An excerpt from the interview below.
3. What bands are you influenced by?
Right now: The Gaslight Anthem, Beiruit, mewithoutYou, Ryan Adams, The Black Keys, Biggie Smalls, The Tallest Man On Earth, Big L, Sigur Ros, AA Bondy, The Faint, Bon Iver, Women, Radiohead, Portugal. The Man, The Mars Volta, Cold War Kids, The Dear Hunter, etc.
4. If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would it be and why?
Bob Dylan during Highway 61, Radiohead during Amnesiac, Lil Wayne so we can toke blunts on the regular, and mewithoutYou cuz they are borderline incredible.
