Brand New, The Starting Line, Random Task & Outline @ M + M Hall 7.7.01

The Starting Line

Outline

Random Task

It's hard to believe Brand New, The Starting Line, future members of Armor For Sleep & Steel Train were all once included on the same bill, but back in the summer of 2001 at the now defunct M + M Hall in Old Bridge, NJ that was exactly the case.

Brand New were 3 months away from releasing their debut record on Triple Crown Records Your Favorite Weapon.

The Starting Line released their Drive-thru Records debut With Hopes of Starting Over EP just a month earlier.

Outline ended up signing to Triple Crown Records, but later disband. Jack went on to form Steel Train. Later Evan Winiker from Random Task joined the group as basses, then Matthew Goldman joined as a touring guitarist. Eventually Dan Silbert would end up replacing Matthew as Steel Train's second guitarist.

When Random Task disband, drummer Ben Jorgensen went on to record a three song demo, recording all of the instruments himself. The demo turned out to be Armor For Sleep's first material. The three songs were "Dream To Make Believe", "Slip Like Space" and "Pointless Forever".
